About Me

My name is Liam Gould, and I am currently a Junior in High school. Elevate Cents was initially launched while I was a sophomore at the Episcopal School of Dallas. I am a student-athlete who plays hockey, soccer, and tennis, and I am passionate about finance, economics, technology, and investing, as well as how they intertwine with one another. My passion for finance arose through my research on the stock market. I researched key financials and technicals to look for, as well as learning about value investing through the Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham. Through this research, I have developed my own investing style which combines deep value investing principles with quantitative fundamentals and smart technical triggers.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to impact and improve long-term financial behavior and decision making in adulthood through early financial education. Through approaches such as research and hands-on teaching, we aim to bridge the gap between financial knowledge and real world, practical applications, cultivating a culture of financially responsible and independent adults.

We chose to begin this organization because of our interest in how people make financial decisions. By doing secondary research and interviewing experts, we aim to share information with the public on financial education. More specifically, our goal is to explore the following questions:

  • How does early financial education influence long-term financial behavior and decision-making in adulthood?

  • What are the most effective methods for teaching personal finance and financial literacy to teens and young adults to improve long term financial behavior and decisions in adulthood?

On our website, we plan to share our findings with the public as we explore these questions, and document our experiences with hands-on financial education.

Make a donation

Donations to Elevate Cents turn financial literacy into real opportunity. When you donate, you’re helping students in underserved communities in the Philippines build the skills and confidence they need to make smarter financial decisions for their future.

Your support will be used to produce and print financial literacy handbooks that are provided free of cost to students during our financial literacy workshops. These handbooks become their personal, long term guide to budgeting, saving, investing, and setting goals.

During our financial literacy workshops, we also provide small sums of prize money to students who show the most improvement or understanding, as well as for those who win the mini-games and challenges we run in each session. The goal is not just to reward participation, but to help students start their own bank accounts or add to their first real savings, so the lessons they learn in the classroom can immediately translate into real-life action.

Every donation helps make our financial literacy workshops both accessible and actionable, turning knowledge into a concrete first step toward financial independence.
